Asian Regional Delegation of the Universal Focolare Movement Visit DILA

Antonio Salimbeni and Rita Moussallem, Asia representatives of the Center for Religious Dialogue within the Focolare Movement, Professor Hu Gongze, who serves as the head of the Focolare Movement in Taiwan, and Brian Reynolds, the head of Focolare for East Asia, were accompanied by core members Shao Yanling, Calri Kim, and Father Wang Jingren during their visit to the Dharma Drum Institute of Liberal Arts (DILA). They were warmly received by DILA's president, Professor Ting-Ming Chen, along with the faculty members, along with Ven. Yandao and Ven. Chang Ge, who respectively serve as the directors of students at Sangha University. The Focolare Movement, a Catholic lay organization headquartered in Italy, is held in significant esteem by the Vatican and is deeply committed to fostering dialogue among the world's religions. In 2017, the movement collaborated with our institution to orchestrate inter-religious dialogue activities. Furthermore, our school has entered into a cooperative agreement with Sophia University in Italy, an international institution affiliated with the movement, facilitating academic exchanges and facilitating exchanges of faculty and students. During the recent exchange meeting, both parties engaged in discussions surrounding common global issues and challenges, including the phenomena of secularization, the ethical implications of artificial intelligence, and the pressing concerns of climate change. Through these exchange activities, there is a shared aspiration for continued mutual visits and the invitation of educators to deliver lectures at respective institutions, thereby fostering and promoting ongoing inter-religious exchanges and dialogue.
